Mark’s talking about moving us back to Louisville some time. Not exactly sure when, but the thought of moving makes me cringe. So moving isn’t a bad thing, but it will be a pain in the derriere. All the things we have now that we didn’t have before … Still, I say moving now, while Gabbie is still too young to be in school, is better than moving when she’s enrolled somewhere. Granted, that’s a few years off yet, but these things take time.
I was interested in becoming a certified transcriber so I can apply for the job at APH. That way, I have even more incentive to be in Louisville. Mark actually came up with the idea, and I think it’s great! It looks like it only pays $14.00 an hour, but that’s different in Louisville than it would be here in California. And aside from the certifications, it sounds like I meet all the qualifications. I don’t care if I was making minimum wage, honestly, as long as I was getting the medical benefits. It would be nice if we could all get off of Medi-Cal/Medicaid and have good insurance, for once.
I’m not exactly sure how long the NLS certification program for transcribers takes, but I think I can do it via correspondence. If that is the case (and I do hope it is), then I can do things at my own pace and have it done in a shorter time than I would if I was in a group environment. I tend to be the first in any group to finish something, so … I can cross my fingers and hope that they still do the correspondence thing! I have already contacted the person who deals with all that, so now I wait.
I know I applied to CSUF, but I still haven’t heard anything back from them, and I’m starting to lose hope. Even if I did end up attending for the fall semester, that still leaves us stuck at my parents. I would love it if we had our own place, with our own room, and our own bed … gosh, it would be so much easier to deal with Gabbie’s screaming and wailing when I try to get her to sleep in her own crib, if I could just close the door and walk away.
Waiting sucks.

Wow… moving back to louisville? I thought your dad was talking about building an upstairs to your house or something so you guys could live there. but i know what you mean about wanting to have your own place, and your own space. Still thinking about going to the reunion with you guys, hopefully, by the way, just as an aside because I read your comment.
And getting certified as a Braille Transcriber sounds really cool, dude! good luck with that…
